Spring 2016 interior trends are all about the power of pattern and how print is more important than ever as a decorative element. It may be a cliché but a new year really does mean a new start and what better way to kick off the year than to bring some of the best and current interior trends into your own home in preparation for spring. Leanne Dixon has her say on four of the best spring trends to incorporate into your own home.

THE POWER OF PATTERNS

As we approach spring, many envisage very neutral colours in a contemporary environment. This can work well but to mix it up and keep up with the Jones’s you’ll have to incorporate patterns. Think bold striking patterns with exotic elements. However, it is also important not to go overboard with clashing colours against block painted walls. A few scatter cushions in our Wolseley Red fabric on your sofa and bed will not only keep consistency throughout the house but will also make your home a more inviting place to say.

INSPIRED BY NATURE

This trend is all about layering botanical prints with paler woods. This will create a rustic and natural look. You could also introduce real life plants as well which naturally oxidise the room but also give a more three dimensional feel to your space. It is important to use different shades of green and to contrast this with light wood. A perfect match for this trend is our Patchwork Evergreen.

WARM PASTELS

Shades of Pastel are a great way of adding a gentle dose of colour into a room for the onset of spring. They are great at teaming with cool greys to get a relaxed and inviting living space. The pastel trend can be incorporated into the living room, kitchen or bedroom, sporting a traditional sixties appeal. Pastels are an understated style that makes them very versatile but be careful not to overdo it. Our Conway Plain Wedgwood fabric is a great example of this seasons pastel trend.

COOL GREYS

It may currently be grey outside but it’s coming inside too. The neutral colour of pencil and chalk are here to stay. Greys are a contemporary colour and easy on the eye, making it a great base shade for rooms on walls and floors etc. That said colour should always be incorporated over the greys to give it that understated style. The perfect trend for this style is our Vienna Grey.
