Ukraine Crisis: We’re Supporting the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal
It’s hard not to feel somewhat helpless as we watch the devastation and suffering of the innocent people of Ukraine where lives are being lost, families separated, homes destroyed, as well as the impact on neighbouring countries.
Our HSL family is deeply saddened and distressed by the developing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. As a business, with a strong connection to Eastern Europe, family sits at the very heart of our core values.
For this very reason we have chosen to partner with the DEC (Disaster Emergency Committee) to help as many Ukrainian families as possible. The DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of crisis overseas.
The HSL family is made up of over 500 colleagues and we are donating £50 on behalf of each and every colleague within our business, equating to over £25,000, to the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
This donation will go towards providing essential basics such as food, hygiene kits and blankets to Ukrainian families who have been displaced, helping to potentially feed over 500 families for the next month. The UK government has also committed to match donations up to the value of £20m.
The HSL family is united in their thoughts and stand together as one in their support for the people of Ukraine and all those affected by this terrible war. From our family to those in Ukraine, we send our deepest thoughts, prayers and well wishes in their time of need.
William & Debra Burrows, Business Owners.
